As a result of the system moving through southern Iowa, temperatures range widely across Iowa, with values in the upper teens northwest to upper 30s southeast as of 4 am. Winds are light out of the north northeast for most, but a bit breezier near where the rain is falling. Light rain and snow will continue to move through south central and southeastern Iowa through the morning hours, potentially causing slick conditions during the morning commute. However, this precipitation should wrap up by mid morning. Additional light snow chances then move over portions of southern and eastern Iowa later today, but snowfall amounts will be minimal. Tonight and beyond: Light snow will finish by early tomorrow morning then conditions will remain cool and dry through much of the day Saturday with highs only reaching the mid to upper 30s. Saturday night, more precipitation chances move over the state, bringing a light rain/snow mix to central and eastern Iowa. Again, snow and rain amounts will be minimal Saturday night. Precipitation clears out early Sunday morning and the forecast remains dry and cool through the beginning of next week. By the second half of next week, temperatures look to warm back up into the 40s and even 50s. $$ Dodson
