The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Tornado Watch for portions of 
  Much of western and central Alabama

* Effective this Tuesday night and Wednesday morning from 1005 PM
  until 400 AM CST.

* Primary threats include...
  A few tornadoes possible
  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely
  Isolated large hail events to 1 inch in diameter possible

SUMMARY...Broken bands of supercells in Mississippi will spread
northeastward into Alabama through the overnight hours, with some
increase in storm coverage expected.  The storm environment will
support the potential for a few tornadoes, as well as damaging winds
of 60-70 mph and isolated large hail near 1 inch in diameter.

The tornado watch area is approximately along and 60 statute miles
east and west of a line from 55 miles north northwest of Birmingham
AL to 25 miles west southwest of Evergreen AL. For a complete

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for
tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for
threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements
and possible warnings.

AVIATION...Tornadoes and a few severe thunderstorms with hail
surface and aloft to 1 inch. Extreme turbulence and surface wind
gusts to 60 knots. A few cumulonimbi with maximum tops to 500. Mean
