The heavy rainfall events continue apace with another one happening Tuesday night, just east of Waterloo. The featured map presents NOAA MRMS 24 hour precipitation estimates valid at 8 AM Wednesday morning. The map is focused in on Buchanan County and shows a very narrow stripe of four to five inches of rain with estimates quickly dropping just a few miles away from it. Available NWS COOP and CoCoRaHS morning rainfall reports are included as well. A value of zero near Manchester is located not all that far from the 4.67 inch report! While the featured map can't be directly generated from the website, the COOP "7 AM App" does exist and can interactively show the same data as presented on the map.
