Full blown winter weather continues this Thursday morning with wind chill readings between -20°F and -30°F. The good news is that we'll have just one more night over quite cold weather and then start digging out of the temperature hole we have been in lately. The featured chart presents the monthly average low temperature for Ames since 2006. The value for this February is a remarkable departure from what we expired just last February. You may recall that winter 2023-2024 consisted of two weeks of winter during January and that was about it. Of course, the February value for this year will increase some with the remaining days expected to warmer than the current average starting on Sunday.
