The Memorial Day weekend was active for severe weather with storms on Monday prompting the issuance of numerous watches and warnings by the NWS. The Storm Prediction Center coordinates watch issue with the local NWS forecast offices and issued a somewhat rare Particularly Dangerous Situation (PDS) Tornado Watch over a good chunk of Minnesota. The featured table presents an unofficial IEM computed recent listing of PDS watches. This designation can be added to either Tornado or Severe Thunderstorm Watches.
