Temperatures nicely soared on Tuesday to the warmest values seen so far this year with highs in the 40s and 50s. Due to the lack of snow cover there, Sioux City was able to set a new record high temperature for the date of 58 degrees. The warm air is expected to stick around a few more days and will make quick work of the remaining snow cover over the state. In general, amounts have been meager this winter season with a very late start to the first significant snowfall and then a period of warm weather during December.
