What started as a little storm over Southwest South Dakota grew into a complex that brought rain and wind to most of Iowa this morning. These complexes are classified as mesoscale convective systems. They are a result of the large amounts of heat and moisture that build up during the day. This is the second night in a row that such a system has made it to Iowa.
