The featured chart presents the monthly precipitation total records for Ames. The largest total shown is just over 16 inches during the epic July of 1993. So far, the total for Ames is nowhere near that total, but the daily accumulation for July 1993 didn't get started in earnest until a 4.65 inch event on the 9th.
