The extremes of possible weather are shown with a Blizzard Warning (orange color) over the Dakotas and a Hurricane Warning (red color) over parts of eastern Florida. With unofficial IEM archives back to 2008, this concurrent combination is somewhat rare with only two other events found back in Oct and Nov of 2020. Iowa will get in on the extreme weather act today with a chance of severe thunderstorms and a strong cold front ushering in much colder temperatures for the weekend.
